WEETON NEWS: March 2006
9th March 2006: Weeton Primary School launches new website!
Weeton Primary School has launched its new website today! Following successful trials by Class 5 and much appreciated advice from Mr Young, Mr Horrocks decided to send out details of the website to all the families.

Even though there are still a few gaps on certain pages, Weeton Primary School is now open to the world - 24 hours a day!

10th March 2006: Mummy goes to Blackpool
Mr Horrocks took our Egpytian mummy, created by Years 3 and 4, on a special trip to the Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool today.
Passers-by were amazed as the lifesized mummy was carried into the gallery wrapped in a blanket! When asked how he was feeling, the mummy replied: "No comment!".
The mummy has been entered in the Young Seasiders Schools' Arts and Crafts Exhibition, with lots of wonderful artwork from local schools.
21st March 2006: The band plays on! We were delighted to hear that the King's Division Normany Band is to stay here at Weeton. The band will be merged with the King's Division Waterloo Band from Catterick. The new band will known as the Band of the King's Division, and will be based at Weeton. 21st March 2006: Class 5 win race to create first class page After a great effort, Class 5 finally produced their first class page today. They managed to beat Class 2, who are busy preparing a top secret page which should amaze the world (after all, they are only 6!).
Why not visit Class 5's page now (unless you've already seen it!). Click here to return to our Home page
The Grundy Art Gallery is on Queen Street in Blackpool (next to the library) and is open Monday to Saturday from 10am - 5pm .
The exhibition is on until Saturday 22nd April 2006.
Over the years, the band has entertained us at Weeton School and our Singing Group has taken part in their Christmas Concerts at the Preston Guild Hall and here at Weeton.
In 1998, the Normandy Band helped us celebrate the school's 40th birthday. They also took part in the official opening of our Rainbow Room in October 2004, when they played a specially composed fanfare.
We look forward to more great music from the Band of the King's Division in the future.
