A surprise for Sean!
On Tuesday 5th December 2006, two of us, along with Mr Horrocks, Mr Goth and Mrs Evans, set off from school on a special journey. We were going to see Sean at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. We had a very special delivery to make - lots of art and craft materials which we had bought for Sean and the other children in hospital - and a BIG cheque!
Mr Hornett drove the mini bus for us. Although it was raining when we left school, by the time we arrived in Liverpool the sun was shining.
Sean and his dad had arrived at the hospital earlier that morning, ready for Sean's next lot of treatment. As the treatment takes 8 hours each day, the children need things to do. Sean was watching a DVD when we got to the ward. He was soon out off bed though when we showed him what we'd brought...
Sean liked the look of the paper plane kit...
Then we showed Sean the cheque for £1000 - the money we had raised at school with "Sing for Sean".
Pippa - who looks after the children and keeps them busy - was really pleased. They are always running out of paper and pencils and things.
Then we went along to the "Imagine" fundraising department. We left Sean with Mr Hornett - making paper planes!
We met Chris and presented her with the cheque...
After that, it was back to the ward to see how Sean was getting on with his paper planes!
Then we said our goodbyes to Sean and his dad, and set off back to Weeton. It had been quite a morning... and a really good one.
