1 May 2008 - Weeton School wins laptop!

Lancashire County Council announced today that our school has won 1st place winning a laptop in this year's "Tune into Battery Recycling" scheme.

We managed to collect 235.59 kg of batteries.  On average each battery weighs 0.03kg, which means Weeton School collected an estimated total of 7853 batteries for recycling.

Within the Fylde District 24 primary schools have collected 1197.76kg or approximately 39,925 batteries!  Our school therefore collected around one fifth of all the batteries!

Second place winner was Stalmine Primary (winning a camcorder) and third place went to Pressall Fleetwood's Charity C of E School (winning a digital camera).

The three schools will be presented with their prizes at the next Fylde Local Meeting on 27th May 2008.
